What is tempfile.online?
A free, privacy-first temporary file hosting service. Upload files, get shareable links, files auto-delete after your chosen time (1-24 hours).
Do I need an account?
No. Upload instantly without registration. We use an anonymous browser cookie to track your uploads per session.
How do I upload?
Local Upload: Drag & drop files or click the drop zone.
URL Import: Paste a URL and we fetch the file for you.
Limits
- Max file size: 100MB per file
- 200 uploads per hour
- All file types supported (except executables and scripts)
- Retention: 1, 6, 24, or 24 hours
Sharing
How do I share files?
After upload, copy the generated link and share it. Works on all devices and browsers.
Are links secure?
URLs contain random IDs and cannot be guessed. However, anyone with the link can access the file.
Troubleshooting
Upload failed?
- Check file is under 100MB
- Check internet connection
- Try refreshing the page
- Try a different browser
Link doesn't work?
The file has probably expired. Files are deleted automatically, cannot be recovered.
Can I extend expiry?
No. Re-upload with longer retention if needed.
Privacy & Security
- HTTPS encryption for all transfers
- Files auto-deleted after expiry
- No file content scanning for ads or profiling
- Minimal server logs, auto-purged
